Services suspended and church closed due to coronavirus

Coronavirus

LATEST UPDATE: Monday 23 March - 22:45

Following the latest guidance from the Church of England, and in light of the new restrictions announced by the Prime Minister, all of our normal services of public worship on Sundays and Wednesdays are now suspended due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Marriage services and christenings can no longer take place and we are really sorry but the church building must also remain closed, even to visitors.

The health and well-being of everyone in church is uppermost in all our minds and we want to do everything we can to ensure we are not doing anything which could help Coronavirus virus to be passed around our congregation and anybody else who may come into St. John's.

While we are unable to hold our regular weekly services, it is important to say that the work of supporting those people who live in the Parish of St John's goes on. We are doing anything we can to support those who need us.

In addition we are trying to record services of prayer and Holy Communion, on behalf of the whole Parish which can be watched online. You can find them in the Recorded Services section of the website and you can also subscribe to the St John's YouTube page to receive a notification when a new service is available.

Thanks for your understanding.
