Lent is fast approaching and we are getting ready to start the countdown to Easter with a pancake party and some very special services of Holy Communion.
On Tuesday 4 March we will be hosting a pancake day party in the church hall. Everyone is welcome to join us between 5pm and 6pm for a range of savoury and sweet pancakes, the traditional way to use up the last of the rich food in the kitchen before the 40 days of Lent begins. Please do join us. There is a suggested donation of £1-£2 but we would just like to enjoy some time together enjoying lots of pancakes!
Then on Wednesday 5 March we will be marking the start of Lent with two special services of Holy Communion which will include the traditional Imposition of Ashes. There will be an opportunity to have your forehead marked with the sign of the cross using ash. The services will take place at 11am and 7pm so please join us for one of those.
We are also working on details of our services for the rest of Lent so look out for those details and we will look forward to journeying towards Easter together.
