"What does St. John's mean to You?"
In offering to put together the available information contained in this booklet I little realised how much there is to know about Farsley, the Church and its people.
I am a relative newcomer to the village but I enjoy living here, so it has given me pleasure to "sift" through the available records to try to provide readers with a brief - and I hope - interesting account of the village and of St. John's part in the village life.
Over the years the Church has seen its busy times and not so busy times - the following was written in 1942 by a Farsley man who remembers the busy times - "I well remember the whole-hearted Services when the Church was packed and the Wednesday evening services, the Whit-Monday walk, the Teacher's meetings and trips, the successful Bazaars, the Annual Prizegiving, Concerts and Socials, Garden Parties and various efforts".
Does St. John's mean this to you ? I hope that having bought and read this booklet you have found my efforts have been worthwhile in helping to raise funds for the Church Hall.
