Rev Sue McWhinney

Sue McWhinney

We are currently searching for a new permanent vicar at St. John's. During that time Rev Sue McWhinney from our neighbouring parish of Calverley is covering the vicar's role in the Parish during the week and taking some of our Sunday services.

Sue has been the Curate in Calverley since September 2017. In a former life she worked as a GP in the York area and spent time at home bringing up her children. Her family enjoys anything to do with the outdoors: walking, climbing, camping, though she draws the line at her husband’s interest in caving!

In her own Parish she particularly enjoys working with children and young families in church and being involved in local schools and community events. She is also really interested in helping people to discover life-giving personal faith in Jesus Christ. Her prayer is that wherever you are on your journey of faith, you will find something in church that will help you to make a deeper connection with God.
